Reflective, supportive supervision in Solihull and online

I am currently completing my Level 6 CPCAB qualification in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision and offer supervision to trainees and counsellors at a reduced rate while I complete my training.

My approach to supervision is integrative, relational and reflective, providing a confidential space to step back from your client work, reflect on what is happening beneath the surface and build your confidence as a therapist.

How I work

I believe good supervision is about more than discussing what happened in a session.

It is an opportunity to explore what is happening between you and your client, what you are noticing, feeling, and how the therapeutic relationship may be influencing the work.

This might include:

  • Developing your clinical thinking and confidence
  • Exploring therapeutic relationships and relational patterns
  • Understanding transference, countertransference and parallel process
  • Working with difficult or stuck sessions
  • Exploring boundaries and ethical dilemmas
  • Safeguarding, risk and professional responsibilities
  • Reflecting on your own responses and developing self-awareness
  • Identifying your continuing professional development needs and areas for further learning
  • Supporting your developing professional identity

I want supervision to be a space where you can bring the sessions that went well, as well as the ones that left you thinking “I’m not sure what happened there.”

You can bring uncertainty, mistakes and difficult material without judgement, while still being appropriately challenged to think critically about your practice.

For counsellors in training

Starting clinical work can feel both exciting and daunting. Supervision provides a place to make sense of your experiences, develop your therapeutic thinking and build confidence as you work towards qualification.

I will work with you in a way that supports your individual development while also considering your training provider’s requirements, ethical responsibilities and placement needs.

We can also use supervision to identify ongoing CPD and professional development, helping you recognise areas where further training, reading, skills development or experience may be beneficial.

My aim is to help you become a thoughtful, reflective and increasingly confident practitioner, rather than simply giving you answers.

Looking beyond the client work

A relational approach to supervision means paying attention not only to what is happening in the therapy room, but also to what may be happening within the supervisory relationship.

Parallel process can sometimes provide valuable insight into what may be happening between therapist and client. Exploring these patterns can help us understand relational dynamics that might otherwise be difficult to see.

This creates an opportunity to slow down, reflect and consider the different perspectives within the work, rather than simply focusing on the presenting issue.

My Experience

My clinical practice is based in Solihull, where I work with individuals and couples experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, bereavement, grief and life transitions.

Working with individuals and couples has deepened my interest in relationships, attachment, and relational dynamics, including how patterns unfold within the therapeutic relationship.

I bring this perspective into supervision while staying curious about your theoretical approach, experience, and developing professional identity.

If you are seeking a supervisor who offers a warm, reflective, and collaborative approach, I would be delighted to discuss what you are looking for in supervision.
