A place to speak freely

People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:

Relationship issues

I work with adults and young people who struggle with a wide variety of relationship issues. This could include problems in marriage, with friends, family members, or the people you work with. Perhaps you are constantly getting into arguments or always feel uncomfortable with certain people in your life. Our work can help explore the emotions that come up during your interactions with others, your potential triggers and gain a better understanding of how you relate to yourself and the people in your life.

Anxiety

Anxiety presents itself in many ways. Perhaps you feel constantly overwhelmed, overthink, or catastrophise over certain issues. You might be experiencing social anxiety, panic attacks, or obsessive-compulsive behaviours. Living with anxiety can prevent you from truly expressing yourself and relating to others. Our sessions together can help you create personalised solutions for managing these feelings when they show up and allowing you to be more like your authentic self.

Low self-esteem

You may feel like you are not good enough, that you are failing in some way, or don’t deserve other people’s time. It may be that you have always put others first throughout your life, neglecting yourself in the process or be a people pleaser. Having a negative view of yourself in this way makes it hard to feel good about life and truly make the most of your potential. We will explore where this low self-esteem comes from and develop a bespoke way to help you feel empowered once again.

Depression

I know that it can feel hard, even impossible, to imagine reaching a better place when you feel depressed. You might feel totally unmotivated, have no energy, or see yourself and the world in exclusively negative terms. My counselling and psychotherapy in Solihull or online offers the space you need to manage these feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment, learning to observe your thoughts in a more compassionate way over time.

Bereavement and loss

People respond to bereavement and loss in different ways, and grief is not just reserved for someone dying. The same feeling of loss can come after losing a job or ending a relationship with someone. There is no correct way to grieve; it takes time to process these feelings, and it doesn’t always happen in a linear way. My role is to support you by understanding these feelings and giving you a non-judgemental, compassionate space to explore these emotions in a way that feels right for you.

Work stress

You may find yourself constantly worrying about work and feel exhausted while also not being able to properly rest. Perhaps there is a specific problem or individual causing you issues. I will give you a place where your problems can be heard, understood, and managed in a way that makes sense to you.

Get in touch

It is often helpful to start with an informal, no-obligation telephone call to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling and whether it could be helpful for you. It is also an opportunity for you to gain a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you and if I think I can help with the issues you bring. Alternatively, please fill out the booking form to arrange a call back at a time that suits you.

All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours and all contact is strictly confidential, using secure telephone and email services. If it is not appropriate for any reason, for me to leave a message, please advise of this and provide specific times when it is suitable to contact you.
